Hey. How's it going. The last time I saw you was in Austin. I just remember you as a pistol, so much energy, wound up like a watch.
And I have an off-the-wall question . . . series, actually. (1) Do you still play trumpet? I home my memory is accurate that you did. (2) Remember "Heights Boogie?" That blessed thing has been going through my head and ears and snapping through my fingers for the last three or four years. I can still see Mr. Carson bouncing up and down like a V-8 piston in a Chevy conducting that thing and Mr. Sandifer slipsliding his trombone with the rest of the brass. . . Anyway, (3) Did you ever have a recording of that, or a score? (4) Do you still? (5) Do you know anyone who might? (6) Who(m) {I taught AP English for 14 years} do you know that might be interested in scoring it back together?
I think that's all.
I got hold of the current Music Director at School; she's never heard it, but she was gracious enough to say she'd like to.
How would (we) go about rebuilding that so the kids today could play that. "Blast from the Past?"
I'm harrassing you because I remember for sure your being in the Band.
