Cooking full on twice a day...That's just the way we Roll on the Ole home front..By full on, I mean like in the olden days when butter and cream reigned Supreme(Does anyone remember Jane Justin"s cookbook?)Cream of Mushroom, nothing low fat.. Glen does not do that!!!!! Sunday breakfast today was simple and quick.. A registered dietician would get really really Sick..A bacon, onion, tomato sandwich did suffice for my sweet hubby.. He has never been even the least bit Tubby. Did I mention the amount of pork I used?.. A whole pound went Down...Tonight fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cream gravy and peas made my kitchen really greasy.. Cleaning up is less than easy.. But Glen loves this Sunday repast.. So I clean the grease wash the skillets(iron of course) And once more Stay the kitchen Course..He may have a wee snack before he hits the sack..Today my Hershey Cake(been making since 70"s) is in the larder.. Not hard to  guess.. A really good bake..Recipe available upon request..So guessWhat?  I don"t eat this way.. Can you imagine if I did? don"t posess the metabolism of a bird,as Glen does..So if anyone out there likes to cook, I have literally thousands of recipes mainly because We Do Not Eat Out Ever!!!!!!!!! In Ft. Worth,Glen would sometimes agree to go to one of two restaurants(I use the term restaurant loosely) Either Sammy"s Barbecue On Lancaster or La Familia.. This is the reason why.. I think..Glen is my age and grew up in the backwoods of Oklahoma the 3rd of 12 children of sharecroppers. Think Grapes of Wrath..While in the summer i swam at Rivercrest, he chopped cotton barefoot.. No electricity, no phone, had tetanus at 15 and nearly died,etc..However: these Folk ate Really,Really Well..Corn,tomatoes,green beans, carrots, new potatoes, english peas, onions, okra, purple hull peas, blackeyed peas, crowder peas, creme peas and all sorts of fruit..So Glen got used to really, really fresh, good food.. OF course, his mother who is alive and healthier than I am at 90 canned everything.. So I have been coerced into learning how to cook all this good Southern grub.. While Glen wa getting his Masters At U.T.A., he perfected the ART of frying okra.. No Grease! Anyone out there like recipes.. I have like 30 for squash.. Next time I will tell you how much I adore laundry
