I am sure you have heard me wax poetic about my new adopted town in Tennessee if you have read any of my previous blogs..Dandridge is the 2nd oldest town in Tennessee and is named for Martha Dandridge, wife of George Washington.. It is really tiny.. The main attraction is Douglas Lake. This lake is renowned for bass fishing (every year a world class bass fishing Tournament is held here with BIG prize money) and is rated either number 1 or 2 in U.S. for crappie fishing.. So imagine my pride when this morning in the Knoxville Sentinel I read that Dandridge has been named "Best small town on the water"by "Life on the Water" magazine,a Southern waterways -based publication based in Huntsville,Ala.The magazine will feature Dandridge in the upcoming Fall issue..Evidently according to the article Dandridge was considered the underdog and edged out Rogersville,Ala,Ocean Spring,Miss.,and Guntersville,Ala. for the award..It is really amazing during the season to watch the HUGE fishing rigs come to town.. They are easy to spot as there is only 1 way in or out of Dandridge..Enjoy your Sunday before the 4th
