So like three days ago I had four unspayed female rabbits.. Today this fairy tale has morphed into the reality of two unneutered males.. One unspayed YOUNG female and 1 new mother and EIGHT baby rabbits.. Imagine my humiliation when I phoned the vet this morning to change tomorrow"s appointment for 2 females to be spayed to having 2 MALES neutered.. She to her credit did not laugh uncontrollably but I detected a giggle when I announced I was the new owner of 8 baby rabbits..Now in my defense, rabbits are not easy to sex..Whatever, you would think I would have some clue why two rabbits fought like Leigh.. now Mr. Lee and Baby Girl.. now Little Man.. All is calm today .. Lemon and her springoffs are securely resting in ANOTHER room from the rest of the posse.. Fannie the young female(too young I am told, but hey I have been misinformed before) is secured away from Mr. Lee and Little Man..The babies appear very healthy and we have seen them nurse..Lemon is eating lots and lots of hay and drinking a ton of water.. Many mouths to feed...I suppose I have become a rabbit breeder inadvertently.. They are easy to sell here at flea markets and Tractor Supply..They are hairless and lie in a big huddle like little pigs.. At about 10 days they open their eyes and start getting some hair.. Well life takes you down some strange paths
