Grandchildren: A Generational Group Hug Contains Disclaimer

My experience is not Typical.. My grandchild is called by my spouse, The Chosen One..He is 13.. Does he think of me at all except as a unending supply of goods and services? His Mother has schooled him well.. Basically, he is a pretty neat kid and has provided me with endless sources of amusement.. My very favorite is when while staying with him once around Christmas when he was 11,I noticed his Yorkie acting weirdly.. I asked him, "Avery what is wrong with Rockster?".. He was very focused as only 11 year olds can be when he innocently responded, "Rockster doesn't like it when there is not an adult in the house".. So I do not qualify as an adult.. Yeah!!!!!!!!! Then we have had some fascinating conversations about how he wishes he liked tomatoes.(as does the rest of his family) Also we have discussed in detail about how people do things differently.. His dad only washes when all the clothes are dirty and sometimes he wears his underwear twice because at Dad"s there is no clean underwear.. I make all the appropriate3 noises about the way people are different and promptly call his Mom the control freak after I drop him off at Dad"s..But since his Mom finds me eccentric we do not see each other often.. He is very North Dallas at this point.. Will he look me up after he gets a driver"s license or will he have forgotten and /or discounted me? I have no clue,but I am totally at peace either way because I love him unconditionally.. What will be will be..
